God’s Word is powerful.

When tempted in the wilderness by satan, Jesus answered with scripture. Every time. He demonstrated for us how we can and should fight off the enemy. With God’s Word.

God meant for us to use His Word as a weapon. In Ephesians 6, God’s Word is called the sword of the Spirit. In Hebrews 4, it says that the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.

When fear and anxiety hit hard, I speak scripture out loud. Declaring His Word to myself and to God. Reminding us both of His promises.

I started writing verses in the first person. Here are some of my most used:

I dwell in the shelter of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord, You are my refuge and fortress, My God in whom I trust. You cover me with your feathers and under your wings I find refuge. Your faithfulness is my shield. (From Psalm 91:1-2, 4)

I will not fear, for You are with me; I won’t be dismayed for You are my God. You will strengthen me, You will help me, You will uphold me with your righteous right hand. (From Isaiah 41:10

I will not fear for You have redeemed me; You have called me by name, I am yours. When I pass through the waters, You will be with me; and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm me; when I walk through the fire I will not be burned, and the flame will not consume me. For you are the Lord my God, the Holy One of Israel, my Savior. (From Isaiah 43:1-3)

Let’s Declare His Word to speak truth to our hearts and over our circumstances.
